Catch-up bookkeeping services
For books that were never kept at all.
Overview
Catch-up bookkeeping reconstructs your books for periods where none were kept — months, or sometimes years, of transactions recorded, reconciled and closed so you can file accurately and start current.
This is more common than most owners think, and it is not a moral failing. A business gets busy, bookkeeping is the thing that can be deferred without an immediate consequence, and the gap quietly grows. Then a filing deadline arrives, or an accountant asks for figures that don't exist.
We rebuild the record from source documents — bank feeds, statements, invoices and receipts — period by period, in order, so each closed month is a foundation for the next rather than a guess.
How the project runs
- Scoping the gap: which periods, which accounts, what documentation exists
- Gathering bank, card and merchant statements for every missing period
- Recording transactions period by period, oldest first
- Reconciling each period before moving to the next
- Building the chart of accounts properly, rather than inheriting a bad one
- Producing the financial statements for each completed year
- A handover into monthly bookkeeping so the gap does not reopen
